If music be the food of love play on, said the bard, William Shakespeare. Sounds are all around us; the chirping of birds, the pitter patter of the monsoon rain, and the market sounds! When all these sounds come together in beautiful harmony, we get music. The team of musicians and artists at the Harpeggio Academy of Music & Fine Arts are dedicated to putting together all the sounds and timbres around us and creating an entire range of emotions and experiences. Under the able guidance of international musicians and artists, we at the Harpeggio Academy are able to give wings to the creative expressions of budding musicians and artists. The comprehensive training, the discipline, and the dedication instilled in our students at our Academy has enabled many of them to opt for a career in music.
In keeping with the times and the great amount of technological advancement in the field of music, the Harpeggio Academy of Music & Fine Arts utilizes state-of-the-art technology to develop the singing abilities of its students. However, we are quick to note the great contribution of our eminent teachers, many of them renowned musicians and artists in their own rights, who use the tremendous skills and experience they have built up over the years to train our students. Plato once said, “Music gives a soul tothe universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” Irrespective of whether our students chart out a career in music, we are proud to say that our students have testified to these music lessons equipping them with coping strategies to sail more easily through the storms of life.
Along with classes in piano, keyboard, guitar, drums, violin, table, mridangam, western vocals, and Carnatic vocal, we also impart lessons in fine arts at our center. Students at our Academy are also trained in visual art created specifically for its beauty and aesthetic value such as pencil drawing and colouring, painting, different kinds of dances such as western dance, classical dance, free style dance, and Zumba fitness, speech and drama. Using technology has made it easier for our teachers to analyze the musical ability of each of our students and tailor lessons accordingly. Classes here at the Academy are fun sessions enabling our students to relax their bodies and minds and perhaps find themselves despite the cacophony of city sounds and the hustle and bustle of academic life.
Our Certification Courses
The Harpeggio Academy of Music & Fine Arts is also the registered examination centre of the Trinity College of London. Our students have the opportunity to get certifications in Western music and instruments and even qualify as teachers of music themselves from an internationally esteemed authority on music so close to their homes. We are also associated with the Annamalai University of Distance Education Grade Certificate Program in Music and Dance enabling those of our students leaning towards classical and Indian music to earn their certificates and laurels. Our lesson plans and lesson timings are structured in such a way that it blends easily with the curricular activities of our students. Come join us and discover the music in your life!!!

Quincy Jones had this to say at the United Nations on International Jazz day. “It has been proven time and time again in countless studies that students who actively participate in arts education are twice as likely to read for pleasure, have strengthened problem-solving and critical thinking skills, are four times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement, four times more likely to participate in a math and science fair.”
We started the Harpeggio Academy of Music and Fine Arts on the 25th June 2008 at Arakunnam, Mulanthuruthy, Erankulam because it was our desire to give our children an opportunity to become well-rounded personalities with values and ethics. We wanted to create an atmosphere where they were taught the worth of being disciplined, tenacious, and team oriented. Music and art was the path we chose to teach our students to think creatively and to be confident with who they were. The tremendous and encouraging response from this venture emboldened us to start our second branch at Malayidomthuruthu, Aluva, Ernakulam District on the 21st of September 2015.
Our academy is well equipped with good quality instruments and an excellent dance floor. The students are taught in air conditioned classrooms that ensure they are not distracted by the vagaries of weather. We also have professional quality acoustic drum booths so that practice can be undertaken without disturbing the other classes. The Academy provides students with the study materials and the musical instruments they require. Personal attention is given to each of the 500 students who are part of our academy and we ensure that extra classes are given to those who lag behind.
We are happy to be supported by a group of professionals who are artists in their own right, who prepare the syllabus and teaching materials, and are committed to help in the creation of musicians and artists of the finest caliber. To this end, there is constant monitoring of the progress of students by the teachers. The management and teachers also meet with parents and students once every 3 months to discuss their progress and the improvements required. We also provide sufficient parking space for those parents who wish to wait in comfort for their children.
Our Center is also the registered examination center of the Trinity College, London. We therefore follow the syllabus of Trinity College, London for all our Western music courses and also encourage our students to be certified in these courses. Likewise, we are also associated with the Annamalai University Grade Certificate Program in Music and Dance and offer their certification courses. We are proud to state that some of our students have made their mark in the film music industry and some have gone on to pursue higher education in music and arts.
In order to give students opportunities to display their talent, we organize projects and release albums of their performances. We also arrange different events that help to remove stage fear and improve self-confidence.
